Demolition Derby Rules

For Full Size, 6 Cylinder, & 4 Cylinder Classes

Vehicles are inspected to ensure compliance with rule specifications.

1) All entrants must be 18 years of age or 16 years of age and have a parent or guardian's signature/permission and present at the time of registration.

2) No intoxicating beverages or drugs will be allowed or tolerated. Un sportsmanlike conduct will be automatic cause of disqualification.

3) Demo Derby officials reserve the right to disqualify anyone who is unfit for competition or whose car does not comply with rules.

4) Full Size: Any American-made stock-type automobile may be used. No trucks, 4x4 cars, convertibles, commercial vehicles, and no Chrysler Imperials will be permitted. No putting sub frame from Imperials under any other make or model. 4 Cylinders: No 4x4 cars, trucks, or convertibles. No converting over larger cars to 4 Cylinders. 6 Cylinders: No 4x4 cars, trucks, or convertibles. No converting over larger cars to 6 Cylinders.

5) Drivers must wear a helmet which extends below the ears and drivers must wear safety belts at all times.

6) No reinforcements of body to the frame except in the Driver's Door area.

7) Doors must be secured with chains, wire, bands or welded. If welded, weld only from door post to bottom of door.

8) No banding or welding the body to the frame. Trailer hitches must be removed.

9) No adding extra leaf springs. Car must be stock from factory.

10) The gas supply must be removed from the stock area to behind the drivers seat and securely fastened and well-covered.

11) Only one piece of pipe may be used for support behind the seat. One piece of pipe may be used for support behind the steering wheel. No 4 point roll cage. A roll over bar maybe used but can only be connected to the bar behind the seat.

12) Fenders may be trimmed only for tire clearance.

13) Any size battery may be used but must be securely fastened.

14) Cut a 12 x 12 inch hole in the center of hood.

15) No welding bumpers to the body for any class. Only the shocks on the bumpers may be welded. Bumpers are not required.

16) Shocks must be stock.

17) Rough treads are permitted. No double tires. No studs or screws to hold tires to the rim. No filling tires with any material. Tires must be D.O.T. approved.

18) Welding solid or chaining down the engine mounts is recommended.

19) Hoods may be fastened with wire, bands, or chains in 4 places. No bolts.

20) Trunks may be fastened with wire, bands, or chains in 4 places. No bolts.

21) Put a plate with your car number on car roof so it will be easier to read.

22) Place 2 to 3 bars in windshield area in front of drivers view for drivers safety.

23) Cars must remove antifreeze from radiators.

24) There will be a $25.00 Protest Fee before the Derby starts.

25) Hoods and trunks must be able to be opened for inspection.

26) All glass, chrome, carpet, and lights must be removed for safety!

School Bus Demolition Derby Rules:

Driver Requirements: ALL DRIVERS MUST BE AT LEAST EIGHTEEN(18) YEARS OF AGE.

1. Any American-made school bus with a wheelbase that is stock for year, make, and model. A 35-70 passenger size bus must be used. NO SMALL BUSES. Motor must be in the front of the bus (no rear engine buses). No alterations allowed except as specified. No stripping or lightening is allowed unless specified.

2. The glass, with the exception of the front windshield, may be removed. This is not mandatory. The seats may be removed but not mandatory.


3. You must have any approved racing type helmet and seat belts.

4. Stock gas tanks may be used. If using a boat type gas tank, it may be mounted overtop of rear axles in bus and must be fully covered with a steel container.

5. Battery may be relocated inside the bus, but must be securely mounted and covered in case of a turnover.

6. Bumpers, frame, and suspension must remain stock. If bumpers need to be replaced, use similar type material as stock. No reinforcements of bumpers.

7. Creative paint jobs and adding decorations to the bus is highly encouraged. Decorations must be securely fastened. Vulgar or obscene lettering or objects are not permitted.

HEATS WILL BE RAN TO QUALIFY FOR THEE FEATURE IF THERE ARE TOO MANY CARS TO RUN ALL AT ONCE. THE TOP 3 TO 5 CARS OUT OF EACH HEAT WILL RECIEVE $25.00 AND QUALIFY FOR THE FEATURE. A CONSILATION WILL BE RAN IF NEDED TO FILL THE FEILD FOR THE FEATURE.
